Hajj Saver Account

Every Muslim must make Hajj a priority and plan to perform it as soon as possible at least once in a lifetime.Your monthly contribution to the Hajj Saver account will be invested in Pakistan International Element Islamic Fund (PIIF), which is monitored and guided by a Shariah council. All dividends declared on the Units held in the PIIF Hajj Saver Account shall be reinvested in the fund.

Arif Habib Investments Limited (formerly Arif Habib Investment Management Limited) offers PIIF Shariah Compliant Hajj Saver Account for retail investors that allow them to invest small amounts and earn Halal profits in order to meet Hajj, Umra and/or Ziarat expenses.

Objective

The objective of this account is to facilitate an investor in achieving medium to long term investment goals by accumulating a lump sum for a final objective (i.e. performance of Hajj, Umra & Ziarat) in a Halal manner, through regular monthly contributions in Shariah Compliant Pakistan International Element Islamic Fund (PIIF).

How it works

All investments will be routed through the Pakistan International Element Islamic Fund (PIIF) - This Fund only invests in domestic and International Shariah compliant securities as approved by the Shariah Council. The Shariah advisory council consists of:

	Justice (Retd) Muhammad Taqi Usmani (Chairman)
	Maulana Mahmood Ashraf Usmani
	Dr. Muhammad Imran Ashraf Usmani
	Mufti Muhammad Zahid

Contribution

The investor can contribute in one lump sum or in instalments. The minimum amount of contribution to open an account is Rs.1,000/- and a minimum of Rs.1,000/- can be added as further investment.Investor can also contribute through standing instructions to his/her bank.

Tenor

There is no restriction on redemption/withdrawal. In case, the investor does not deposit regular investments, the account still remains active and the investor can add investments as and when possible.

Risk Disclosure

The Hajj Saver Account is suitable for long term investors who continue to regularly invest during market cycles. If investor discontinues investment in a short period of time, he/she may not be able to achieve his/her investment objectives and/or achieve a low or negative rate of return on funds invested.
The cost of performing Hajj can increase by more than expected amount and thus the target saving amount may not be enough to perform Hajj.
